William Mason Library

Volunteers needed:

Volunteers in the media center help in a weekly library class (40 minutes long), which they are assigned to at the beginning of the school year.  One person alone can help during a particular class for the entire school year, but if several people are interested in the same class, they often can work alternate weeks or work out a schedule to make sure that one person is helping in the library class every week.

Everything in the library is bar coded, so it is easy to check books in and out.  When you first arrive at the library, books that are left in the book drop need to be checked-in using the computer and the handheld scanner, and then put on the library cart.  During the library class time, while the children are busy with Mrs. Vogel, you quietly shelve the books from the library cart. After the children select the book(s) that they want to take home, you check-out the books for them.
